There's an exciting new short film in the works set in the wild west by Jason Ramirez (Destino in "GRIM", Director of the Brazos Banditos)! Written by Jason Ramirez and Craig Mooneyham, "Four Horses" is a short film/overture for Jason's feature-length film "Cruzado". Without spoiling anything, I will say that the story does have some subversive dialog and pretty heavy atmosphere compared to most films in the genre. My kind of movie, which is why I agreed to be Director of Photography as well as Editor.
How long before we see something? Well... first weekend of shooting begins this weekend in Goliad, TX at the historic Presidio Nuestra Señora de Loreto de la Bahía! After that there's a month-long break, then we visit Round Top, TX to complete principle photography. It should be just above freezing and cloudy, hopefully no rain... we're praying for no rain - We have a very specific time frame with the Presidio, and if we can't get everything we need in that timeframe then the short film would be effectively snuffed out at that point.
Always a fucking rush.
Anyway, in case you're new to the site or just can't remember who The Brazos Banditos are, here's a 3:39 promotional video we cut together for the guys in 2009 (shot and edited during preproduction for "GRIM"... like I've said over and over to a select few, I'm busy!). Be sure to check out the video in 1080p! Fancy details, this was shot in about 6 hours and was online under a week later... made with the Canon XHA1 Camcorder.
